Right near Chez Subban in Montreal, there’s an incredible P.K. Subban mural.

The P.K. Subban trade was very unpopular in Montreal. Not only did the Montreal Canadiens lose an amazing player on the ice, they lost arguably their greatest person off of it. Subban is still immensely popular in Canada and a number of Habs fans converted to being Nashville Predators fans. And most Canadiens fans are rooting for Subban’s team in the 2017 Stanley Cup Finals.

In Montreal, there’s a restaurant called Chez Subban. Or at least as long as the Predators are in the playoffs. Usually, it’s called Chez Serge. But right near the restaurant, which is very popular in Montreal, there’s an amazing mural of Subban.

P.K. remains a cult hero in Montreal. During his time there, he did countless things for the community. Most notably, Subban helped open a children’s hospital wing out of his own pocket. In exchange for him, the Canadiens got Shea Weber. While the former Predators defenseman is still very good, Montreal is out of the postseason while Subban is in the Stanley Cup Finals. So it’s easy to understand why Canadiens fans are frustrated.

While in Montreal, Subban twice led his team to the conference finals. Meanwhile, Weber has still never been past the second round. There are other factors at play as well. Obviously, Subban isn’t the only guy on the Predators doing well. But Nashville is generally the same team they were last season. However, the biggest difference is Subban. His dynamic playmaking has made the Predators a much more deadly team.

Subban is still active in the community. And if he wins the Stanley Cup, you know he’s bringing it to Montreal. If he does, Canadiens fans will be more than happy to celebrate with him.
