1. He is mobile

With the daunting defenses of the SEC, being able to move on the run is critical for a quarterback. A quarterback that can’t move to save his life is ultimately going to have a rough time navigating the conference.

Malik Zaire has the ability to make big plays with his legs and that’s going to make him tough to contain. What adds to his unique ability is the fact that he is left-handed. Florida has done well in the past with mobile quarterback that are left-handed and perhaps Zaire can provide some magic of his own.

When a good quarterback can make his legs as much of a threat as his arm, it puts defenses in a bad spot. Zaire is instinctual and although he hasn’t played many games, there won’t be that many situations he’s uncomfortable with.

To survive the SEC takes patience and making the right reads. If he can do those two things and trust the offensive line in front of him, he’s going to be successful as a graduate transfer for the program.

At the very least, he offers Florida the chance to run some different packages and utilize his unique skill set. This is certainly an addition that has made things in the conference all the more interesting.
