Charles Barkley said on national television he hopes his friend Jeremy Roenick gets eaten by an alligator.

Charles Barkley is one of the greatest basketball players of all-time. There’s a reason he’s called “Sir Charles”. On Monday, Barkley made his love for the NHL and the Stanley Cup Playoffs well known when he attended Game 4 of the Finals between the Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins.

He got to join Mike Milbury and the NBC crew during the second intermission. Barkley is known for saying ridiculous things. Chuck didn’t disappoint in his national debut talking about hockey. On top of many things, Barkley said he hoped Jeremy Roenick gets eaten by an alligator.

Some other highlights from the intermission include Sir Charles saying he can’t be fired, saying he hates fish and that the Stanley Cup Playoffs have been amazing while the NBA Playoffs have not been great. Never change, Barkley.

As nutty as Sir Charles was, this was without question the most entertaining intermission on NBC in quite some time. Barkley has a great personality. Usually, NBC’s NHL guys aren’t very charismatic. They spend most of their intermissions ripping apart stars. Barkley spent his having fun. Naturally, Sir Charles is probably a better NHL studio analyst than Mike Milbury. Then again, who isn’t?

At this point, Barkley might bolt on NBA On TNT again. Let’s hope he does so he gets fired. Barkley is already a pretty huge upgrade over Roenick and Pierre McGuire. Milbury might be intolerable, but if The Round Mound of Rebound is around, people would be a lot more tolerant of him. Welcome to the dark side, Barkley. You made the right decision and you definitely won some people over by hating on Roenick. Hockey fans are glad to have you.
