4. New York Knicks

The New York Knicks would have to either have some serious luck in the draft for Jackson to just fall into their laps, or they’ll have to make some big moves to get up and get him early. Either way, it’d be incredibly worth it if they could get their hands on the young gun.

The Knicks are in a bad spot right now with their current roster, as Carmelo Anthony is not doing the team any favors, Derrick Rose is as injury-prone as ever, and now their one shining light in Kristaps Porzingis is fading with all the drama going on behind the scenes in New York. The best plan now is to officially rebuild, and just blow everything up to get Jackson, keep Porzingis, and move on.

A big play they could utilize, if someone for some reason wanted to add him, would be to move Anthony and their number eight pick in this year’s draft, along with maybe some other future picks, to hop into the top five. The only teams that could possibly do that move would be the Phoenix Suns at number four, or maybe the Sacramento Kings at number five. It would be a hard sell to Anthony to get him to waive his no-trade clause but it’s at least worth a shot.

If they could pull it off, Jackson would be an incredible fit, and would help to lessen some cap room that Anthony is taking up. It gives Porzingis a true sense at where the team is at mentally, along with where they’re headed, and he’ll likely want to stay if the direction is clear.

Jackson would provide a great fit at small forward if they purged Anthony, and would contribute quickly to an upcoming roster that needs a real spark if they hope to have any success in the future.
