Tony Parker intends to play 20 seasons for the San Antonio Spurs.

Tony Parker has spent his entire career with the San Antonio Spurs. During this time, he has been voted to be an All-Star six times, played in many playoff games and won four championship titles with the team. You could say he loves being part of the Spurs family.

But next season, Parker will be entering the final year of his contract, and after the 2017-18 season is over, he will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career. However, Parker is hoping that the Spurs will offer him a contract prior to the 2018-19 season so that he can play 20 seasons with San Antonio.

Per News 4 San Antonio:

"“I hope that the Spurs will offer me a final contract.”“I will be entering my final contract year, it will be the first time in my career that I will be free-agent. I’ve already said it several times, I want to play three more seasons, do the 20 seasons with the Spurs, and I think it’s two decades. I want to continue to perform well on the floor.”"

Parker is currently sidelined due to a leg injury that happened during Game 2 of the second round of the NBA playoffs against the Rockets. He is expected to return to the court in January.

Parker has done a lot of things for the Spurs organization, and his jersey number will definitely be lifted into the rafters in the future. But even though he is an icon for the team, will this be enough to eclipse the Spurs’ brass from his age and susceptibility to injury when they contemplate a new contract for him? Probably not. But on the bright side, he’ll have one more season to erase those concerns.
