LeBron James collided hard with his Cavaliers teammate Tristan Thompson, taking a blindside shoulder right to the face.

LeBron James is obviously vital to the Cleveland Cavaliers as they attempt to come back from a 2-0 NBA Finals deficit to the Golden State Warriors, and any injury would basically kill the Cavaliers’ chances in the series.

That’s why LeBron’s brief scare in the first quarter of Game 3 was such a heart-stopper for any fans in Cleveland. Ironically, just after the ABC broadcast team was talking about LeBron’s impressive ability to not miss any playoff games to injuries or other circumstances, The King managed to get hurt in a weird fashion.

As LeBron was playing defense, he managed to collide with his teammate, Cavaliers forward Tristan Thompson, and took a shoulder right to the face.

LeBron stayed down on the floor for a few minutes, received medical attention on the bench, and was back out on the floor by the time the game returned from its commercial break.

LeBron’ presence is incredibly important for the Cavaliers, with Kyrie Irving seemingly disappearing in the first two games of the NBA Finals. James put up 28 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists for the Cavaliers in Game 1, and registered a triple-double in Game 2 with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists in Game 2.

Despite his best efforts, his team finds themselves down and needing to defend home court in order to survive in the series. But first, it looks like LeBron’s biggest battle might be overcoming his own teammates, and avoiding potential disaster on the league’s biggest stage.
