Two tickets to the women’s singles semifinals have been punched at the 2017 French Open. Let’s take a look to see who advanced to the women’s final four.

The last two tickets to the women’s singles semifinals have been punch at Stade Roland Garros in the 2017 French Open. While the other side of the women’s singles bracket has been absolute madness, the side playing out on Wednesday, June 7 was a bit more chalk.

The top two-seeds on this side of the bracket in No. 2 Karolina Pliskova and No. 3 Simona Halep advance to the women’s semifinals. They will play each other for a shot at the women’s finals on Friday, June 9.

Pliskova was the first of the two players to advance on Wednesday. She defeated No. 28 Caroline Garcia in two sets, 7(7)-6(3), 6-4. Throughout the tournament, Pliskova has been one of the most steady players. She has had matches were she has looked especially dominant. More importantly, she has shown that she can win without having her best stuff on clay.

Halep had her hands full in a worthy adversary on Wednesday. She managed to knock off No. 5 Elina Svitolina in three sets, 3-6, 7(8)-6(6), 6-0 to reach the women’s semifinals. Of the four players remaining, Halep has been arguably the best player in the tournament. While Wednesday was not her best day, there is a good chance that Halep could win her first French Open title this weekend.

Here are the results from Wednesday, June 7 in the women’s singles quarterfinals in the 2017 French Open.
