The season 5 finale of Arrow left fans on a cliffhanger, something that will pick up in the season 6 premiere when it airs.

Season 5 of Arrow concluded with a dramatic episode taking place on Lian Yu. Oliver Queen, Team Arrow, and other recruits battle Adrian Chase and the villains he rounded up to fight with him, all of whom were linked to Oliver’s past.

However, the end of the episode saw Chase kill himself, which set off dozens of explosives on the island. This left everyone on the island, with the exception of Oliver and William, stranded. The show faded to black and left viewers guessing the fate of characters like Felicity Smoak, Thea Queen, Rene Ramirez, Talia al Ghul and Slade Wilson.

So for about five months, speculation will fly all over about the future of everyone that remained on the island. Some of this should get cleared up with the season 6 premiere.

The CW usually brings back shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow around the same time in October. That’s been the case for the show led by Stephen Amell, which returned around the same timeframe, in the early part of the third-to-last month of the year:

  • Season 1 premiere: October 10, 2012
  • Season 2 premiere: October 9, 2013
  • Season 3 premiere: October 8, 2014
  • Season 4 premiere: October 7, 2015
  • Season 5 premiere: October 5, 2016

For the season 6 premiere, if The CW follows up on what it did the previous five years, then Arrow should return on Thursday, October 5, 2017, at 9:00 p.m. ET. If not this date, then look for season 6 to debut on October 12, 2017. This show had always aired on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET, but got moved when The CW announced its fall 2017 TV schedule.

Arrow will be back in about four months with more twists and turns than ever, as the fate of most of the cast is determined. It will air on a different day and time, but continue featuring Oliver’s quest to protect Star City and people.
