Bryce Harper is on a mission to make baseball fun again, and he certainly provided a nice highlight when he ripped the cover off of the ball.

Bryce Harper has become one of the more popular, or at least well-known, names in baseball as he attempts to make the sport “fun again”. One way to get people more interested in the sport and watching is by doing some crazy things in games.

Harper has had a weird, but entertaining to say the least, last month for the Washington Nationals, as he got into a benches-clearing brawl after getting hit by a pitch a few weeks ago and sent the baseball world into a frenzy. On Thursday night, he added to that same highlight reel with something a little less violent.

In a game against the Baltimore Orioles, Harper swung at a pitch that looked to be a normal foul tip, which rolled off into foul territory towards the third base dugout. However, upon further review, the clip was a little more special than a usual foul tip.

The ball, when zoomed in on, can be seen with a literal rip in the cover, which means Harper swung hard enough to actually break the ball. Add in the sick helmet-loss, hair flip moment from how hard his swing took his body’s momentum, and it provided for a beautiful clip all around.

Like Cut4 said in their tweet, the clip was literally reminiscent of the movies where players hit homers with the ball just going down to its basic elements.

If we could always have months from Harper, or any other baseball player, that match up with his last 30 calendar days, we’d in for a really special sport full of majestic hair flips and awesome, powerful swings.
