The Penguins were already up 3-0 in Game 5, but Conor Sheary decided to celebrate his birthday by giving his team a gift, alongside Phil Kessel.

Conor Sheary was apparently in a giving mood on his birthday for the Pittsburgh Penguins as they battled the Nashville Predators in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final.

The Penguins already seemingly had Game 5 well in hand after the first period, as they went into the locker room up 3-0 after one frame. The team is trying to take a 3-2 lead in a tied series, and is looking to head back to Nashville with the chance to clinch the series and their second-straight Stanley Cup title.

For Sheary, he was already having a great birthday. His team was up big, and was making his job easy as he turned 25. However, he decided to return the favor for his team, and offer up a gift of his own for his Penguins.

Early in the second period, the birthday boy scored a beautiful goal on a pass from Sidney Crosby to make it 4-0 for the Penguins, and provide a solid cushion for the hometown team.

A few minutes later, Kessel decided that the floodgates really needed to be opened, as he added on another goal with a beautiful snipe to make it 5-0 Penguins in just the second period.

The Predators are likely out of the game, which may have been evident by an apparent white-flag waving when they took out starting goalie Pekka Rinne before the second period started in favor of Juuse Saros.

Nashville will need to come back big in Game 6 in front of their home crowd, barring an absolute miracle in Game 5, in order to stay alive in the series, and keep their hopes up for their first Stanley Cup title. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh will likely have the chance to repeat as champions, and should get two chances to do so.
