Even playing for the local NFL team doesn’t get you any leeway at Penguins games, as Steelers kicker Chris Boswell got ejected from Game 5.

The Pittsburgh Penguins put six goals up on the Nashville Predators in Game 5, and it’s too bad they didn’t have a kicker there to boot the extra point when it happened.

At some point in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell apparently got kicked out (no pun intended) of the arena for getting a little too rowdy. In a series where catfish regularly get thrown out on the ice, and players can freely smash other players’ heads into the ice, Boswell got ejected for a unique reason.

According to a tweet from Boswell during the game, he got kicked out of the game for “banging on the glass”, which he said came after the Penguins won two fights on the ice.

The kicker called the situation “crazy”, especially in such a pivotal game of the league’s biggest series.

Kickers and punters obviously aren’t the most popular players in the league, unless your name is Pat McAfee or Marquette King, so maybe the security at the arena didn’t quite catch who exactly they were ejecting until it was too late. Maybe if it was Ben Roethlisberger or Antonio Brown we wouldn’t be having this conversation, but unfortunately Boswell became the victim in this situation.

Boswell may get another chance to catch the Penguins in action at home, depending on how Game 6 of the series goes back in Nashville. The Penguins have a chance to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, and can either do it on the road in Game 6, or would have the chance to do it in front of their home crowd in a decisive Game 7.

Let’s hope for Boswell’s sake he gets one more chance to watch some hockey live, and also one more chance to get ejected.
