If you make an anti-Mike Milbury sign, NBC might try to bribe you to get rid of it.

Mike Milbury is NBC’s equivalent to Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith. Very few hockey fans like him as a studio analyst. Milbury says something idiotic or ignorant (or both) at least once every segment. Hockey fans rarely agree about anything, but most of them can agree he might be a worse analyst than he was a general manager for the New York Islanders. NBC, naturally, doesn’t like to see Milbury get hated on. So they’re bribing Predators fans to get rid of their anti-Milbury signs.

This has happened numerous times. Several fans described how they were offered NBC Sports hats in exchange for allowing the network to confiscate their signs. Some took them up on the offer while others didn’t. It’s fairly ironic the fans are being offered NBC Sports hats when it’s fairly obvious they don’t support the network. Or at least its most prominent analyst.

Nashville Predators fans have every reason to hate the analyst. Milbury was extremely critical of star defenseman P.K. Subban, calling him out for his pregame antics earlier in the playoffs. However, during a segment during Game 5, he took his hatred to a new level. Sidney Crosby hit him in the head repeatedly. Milbury said, “he had it coming”.

Why NBC continues to employ the former Islanders general manager is baffling to many hockey fans. When Charles Barkley is a refreshing change from you, that’s pretty telling. At least the NBA on TNT analyst has charisma and personality, neither of which Milbury possesses. As a player, he once threw a shoe at a fan after a game. So maybe that explains Milbury’s outdated and old school ways of thinking.
