American Ninja Warrior season 9 premiere live stream: Watch online

American Ninja Warrior has new obstacles, familiar contestants, and hopefully some fantastic feats for its season 9 premiere.

American Ninja Warrior is back in its Monday night slot for its ninth season of competition, and, as it has in seasons past, it’ll be starting things off in Los Angeles.

With a little deduction, a look at the press page for the June 12 episode description, and the following video, we can basically set out the six obstacles that will likely make up the qualifying course in L.A. this year.

Below, you can see part of Grant McCartney’s run. Kevin Bull will also appear in the qualifiers, per the press page, and it’s not outside the realm of possibility that someone like Jessie Graff may also make her run here as well, since she debuted in L.A. and also appeared in this week’s “Crashing the Course“.

First up, we have the Floating Steps making their return. Next is the new Cannonball Drop, which looks like it could easily throw experienced ninjas and newcomers alike. As both Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila note, the drops, which are 10 inches and 12 inches respectively per “Crashing the Course”, make it tougher on larger ninjas. Third is the Flywheels, and fourth is Block Run. Fifth, then, should be the brand-new Battering Ram, followed by that old standby, the Warped Wall.

We have actually seen the Battering Ram this year, though — it showed up in the Celebrity Special. Here’s Derek Hough’s run, where he does the obstacle and gets through it:

Both the Cannonball Drop and Battering Ram add a new test of grip strength for ninjas looking to make it to the city finals.
