Danica Patrick didn’t take too kindly to fans booing her after asking for an autograph after a race on Friday, and ranted to the fans for about a minute.

Danica Patrick has been one of the more notable names in racing for a long time now, but even she still has to deal with hecklers at races every now and then.

Athletes have to deal with rude comments and booing all the time, and sometimes they decide to take matters into their own hands, and respond to the people themselves. Patrick did just that Friday, after a Pocono 400 qualifier, and didn’t hold back with her words.

Patrick explained to the fans that she’s not just there to sign autographs and please the fans, and added a few expletives along the way to show her displeasure for the booing.

“Since I’m old, instead of taking the booing, what I want to tell you is like, I’m doing the very best I can,” Patrick said. “If you’re a real fan, you know that I’m not just like…my job is not to sign autographs, right? My job is to drive a car and to tell the crew chief what’s going on.”

Many fans forget about the human element of all of the athletes they watch, and Patrick made sure to let the fans know that she was still human, as well.

I don’t appreciate the booing. It hurts my feelings. I’m a [expletive] person, you know what I mean? I’m a person, too. I have feelings. When you boo me, it hurts my feelings.Okay? Please just be supportive fans. I’ll do everything I can.”

It’s cool to see Patrick address the boos, and she didn’t do it in a mean way like many other athletes would, so props to her for how she handled it.
