Will Thunder fans ever get over Kevin Durant?
By Mark Carman
Passionate Thunder fans are having a hard time these Golden State Warriors championship days
There was no surprise in the end. The Golden State Warriors were the best team all season long and they proved it with a decisive NBA finals triumph over the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers in five games. Kevin Durant was close to beating Golden State last year, leaving some to wonder if the Thunder could have gotten past both the Warriors and Cleveland if he never left Oklahoma City. We will never know and Kayla will always be bitter about it.
With less fanfare, but more competitive games, the Stanley Cup Finals went to the Penguins, but not without referee drama. Come on NHL, you have to be better than disallowing obvious goals in the most crucial moments. Hats off to the Predators for an amazing run as an eight seed beating the heavily favored Chicago Blackhawks and coming oh so close to winning their first title. Sydney Crosby should not have been MVP, but still the signature talent in the game.
Some interesting promotions making their way around both MLB and minor league baseball. Aggressive times for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp trying to get people to their ballpark with a Father’s Day pregnancy promotion. The Atlanta Braves are hitting a home run with their “Beat the Freeze” between-innings race.
Carm and Kayla went on the road this week to get in “shape”. Thanks to TCBoost for having us out. I am still injured, but don’t regret the effort. A reminder to all you oldsters out there, stretch before running the 40-yard dash.I regret to announce that I will not be trying out to be a US Open ballboy in 2017 due to work conflicts, and my body breaking down. My dream will have to wait until 2018.
