A week away from next Thursday’s NBA draft, Florida State forward Jonathan Isaac will only workout for teams picking in the “top four,” per a report from ESPN’s Darren Wolfson.

"“I know he’s worked out for the Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics. I know some teams below the [Minnesota Timberwolves] are trying to get some face time with Isaac. They are swinging and missing so far. Jonathan Isaac will only workout for teams in the top four.”"

With the Celtics, Lakers, Sixers and Suns rounding out the top four picks, this adds an interesting dynamic to how things could potentially unfold.

It’s no secret that Washington Freshman Markelle Fultz is slated to go first to Boston with UCLA freshman Lonzo Ball, Duke freshman Jayson Tatum, Kansas freshman Josh Jackson and Kentucky freshman De’Aaron Fox all following behind, where does this leave Isaac?

Many mock drafts have seen him going No. 6 to Orlando or No. 7 to Minnesota. Either way, it will be interesting to see how his refusal will play out.

Isaac has worked out for Phoenix and can help fill a defensive void if Alan Williams doesn’t re-sign. He can can also add credibility to a Sun’s front court that is currently being staffed by an inconsistent Alex Len and a growing Marquese Chriss.

He can be a great fit in Orlando pairing with Aaron Gordon for a versatile defensive frontcourt. With Nikola Vucevic constantly the talk of trade rumors, Isaac and the nearly two blocks per game that he averaged at Florida State can form an elite defensive presence, espeically with big man Bismack Biyombo.

Then there is Minnesota, a team in need of rebounding and shot blocking outside of anyone named Karl Anthony-Towns and Gorgui Dieng. Isaac can be a good fit to join the Wolves young core group and can be a nice fit, regardless if he is starting or coming off the bench. Either way, Minnesota and the defensive-minded Tom Thibodeau will likely snag him up if Isaac does indeed fall into their hands.

In the end, I guess we will find out where the 6-foot-10, 210-pound Isaac will be heading next Thursday in Brooklyn.
