Star offensive tackle Jason Peters was already under contract for the 2017 NFL season, but the Philadelphia Eagles decided to sweeten his deal on Wednesday.

Protecting Carson Wentz is priority No. 1 for the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2017 NFL season, and they made sure their best offensive lineman will be in an Eagles uniform for the next three years. Jason Peters, who has been to nine Pro Bowl, signed an extension that will run through 2019, while adding some guaranteed money to the pot. Peters had no guaranteed money on his previous deal, but his new $32.5 million contract includes $15.5 million in guaranteed money, including an $8 million signing bonus.

Staying in the NFC East, Washington Redskins running back Matt Jones will head into the summer as the No. 5 guy on the depth chart at his position, and his agent is looking to get  him released. The Redskins plan to go with Rob Kelley as the starter in 2017, and spent one of their draft picks on Samaje Perine back in April. The 24-year old Jones lost his gig due to an injury last season, and would likely be a hot commodity if he becomes available this summer.

Eric Decker was shown the door by the New York Jets, and is now free to sign with whatever team he chooses this offseason. One of those teams could be the Tennessee Titans, who plan to meet with the wide receiver. Decker is 30-years old, and is coming off surgery on his torn rotator cuff, and hip, so teams may tread lightly when it comes to giving him a long-term deal.

T.J. Watt is officially a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, after signing his rookie deal on Wednesday. The brother of J.J., the younger Watt will be looking to make a name for himself as an outside linebacker in the Steelers 3-4 defense this season. Watt was a star during his time with the Wisconsin Badgers, and will likely be well off working along side a legend like James Harrison during the early part of his NFL career.

Next: One burning question for each NFL team

Brock Osweiler struggled through a horrible first season with the Houston Texans in 2016, playing so bad that the team sent  him packing to the Cleveland Browns this offseason. Now with the Browns, Osweiler is trying to put last season in the past, and is looking to become the No. 1 guy in Cleveland for the 2017 NFL season. He has looked better at camp, though with Cody Kessler and DeShone Kizer also in the fold, the Browns may be looking to play all three guys this season.
