On Thursday, the 2017 US Open will begin. Who’s the odds-on favorite to win the tournament?

The second golf major of 2017 is here, as the US Open will kick off on Thursday morning. Erin Hills, WI, will host the event for the first time ever. It should bring out the best golfers in the world, all going for over $30 million in total prize money.

The US Open will feature the likes of Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose competing for the championship. They’re some of the top players on the PGA Tour, all of whom should be in the running on the final day of competition.

Prior to the event, some fans will look to bet on the golfer they think will win. If anyone did this in 2016 for Johnson, they would have been in luck. The same goes for the potential winner of this year’s competition.

The top 10 golfers for the US Open odds from Bovada (h/t Odds Shark), can be seen below. The full list is available in the previous link:

  • Dustin Johnson +750
  • Rory McIlroy +1200
  • Jason Day +1400
  • Jordan Spieth +1400
  • Rickie Fowler +1800
  • Jon Rahm +2000
  • Justin Rose +2500
  • Sergio Garcia +2500
  • Adam Scott +2800
  • Henrik Stenson +3300

Johnson has the clear lead in the odds at +750. McIlroy, Day and Spieth follow, with the gap between the former three and everyone else being somewhat significant.

Of course, the betting odds may not always correlate to the on-course play. Someone whose odds are +4000 may have the tournament of his life and either cause a lot of people to lose money or cash in big time.
