There are rumors swirling about the Celtics looking to trade their number one pick in the NBA Draft, and they may be loading up to trade for Jimmy Butler.

The Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers reportedly had discussions about a possible trade for the number one overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, and it looks like there may be a bigger picture coming with the deal.

Markelle Fultz out of Washington is widely expected to be the first overall pick in the draft and the 76ers are reportedly looking to move up to grab the superstar. Meanwhile, the Celtics have themselves a roster that earned themselves a top seed in the Eastern Conference and have been expected to be moving their pick to a team that needs Fultz to start their rebuild.

Now, it looks like a bigger reason may be coming out of the trade rumors, and it involves a certain Chicago Bulls superstar. According to a tweet from Adam Zagoria, the team may be loading up an army of first-rounders in order to sweeten the pot for a Jimmy Butler trade,

After Zagoria’s tweet, Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman said that all three teams involved may end up pulling off a blockbuster trade involving a ton of picks, Butler and Philadelphia’s Jahlil Okafor.

Butler has been long rumored to be on the move out of Chicago and was a huge part of trade rumors for the last calendar year in his time with the Bulls. Just a few months ago, when the Celtics knocked the Bulls out of the first round of the playoffs, Butler said that he was hoping to stick around in Chicago after this season.
