The Magic can’t seem to get out their own way in recent years. They’ve changed head coaches as often as I change the air filters in my house (Yes, I’m aware I should change my air filters more frequently). They seemingly make “win-now” roster moves yet are enduring their worst five year stretch in franchise history. Recounting their recent transactions provides constant fodder for NBA podcasts looking for a cheap and easy joke. And then they went and accidentally posted a photo outlining their free agency plans on Twitter.

But do they deserve all this derision? Did they at least find some team-building answers during an otherwise disappointing season? And can they now begin their march back to respectability?

To help find out what went wrong in 2016-17 and to look toward Orlando’s great big beautiful tomorrow, Philip Rossman-Reich (@OMagicDaily) joins the latest episode of Fastbreak Breakfast. Philip is the editor of OrlandoMagicDaily.com and the host of the Locked on Magic podcast. What should the Magic do this offseason? Do the fans have any optimism? Will new management have patience or will they make another short-sighted charge for the postseason?
