Who were some of the biggest names that missed the cut at Erin Hills for the 2017 U.S. Open this weekend?

For some, Erin Hills Golf Course was a tough but rather enjoyable experience over Thursday and Friday for the 117th U.S. Open Championship.

For others, like reigning champion Dustin Johnson, it was an experience that they’d like to put in the rear-view mirror as soon as possible.

Johnson was one of the many notable names that didn’t make it to the rest of the weekend at Erin Hills, as last year’s winner shot +4 overall (75-73) on the tournament and his chances of defending the national championship were ended. Johnson wasn’t alone in missing the cut, as guys such as 2013 U.S. Open winner Justin Rose (72-74) and two-time Masters winner Bubba Watson (75-73) both missed the cut at Erin Hills this week.

With the cut line sitting at +1 overall, last year’s British Open champion Henrik Stenson also missed the cut at +3 overall after rounds of 74 and 73, respectively, in Wisconsin. Jason Dufner, a former PGA champion and recent winner this season, also joined the names of guys that won’t be playing on Saturday and Sunday after shooting +3 on Friday and +7 overall this week.
