Round 2 of the 2017 US Open Championship is in the books. Let’s look back at all the highlights from the second round of the second golf major of the year.

The second round of the 2017 US Open Championship has come to an end. While several golfers have had an outstanding start to their major through the first two days, some of the best of the PGA Tour will have to pack up their bags and go home after missing the cut.

The second-round cut shockingly comes in at only two over on the tournament. Usually the US Open has its winner hovering at right around par. Golfers that won’t be playing on Saturday or Sunday include Justin Rose (+2), Adam Scott (+3), Bubba Watson (+4), Dustin Johnson (+4) and Rory McIlroy (+5).

Though those guys struggled mightily at the 117th US Open at Erin Hills, several players are looking great at six or seven under par. Through two days, four golfers are tied atop the leader board at seven under. Those golfers are Paul Casey, Brian Harman, Tommy Fleetwood and Brooks Koepka.

Three guys are right behind that quartet tied for fifth place at six under. Those golfers would be Jamie Lovemark, Thursday’s leader Rickie Fowler and J.B. Holmes. It should be noted that Hideki Matsuyama and Chez Reavie shot impressive 65s on Friday. Good work on Friday helped those two offset lackluster days on Thursday.

With so many big names dropping like flies at Erin Hills, only Fowler and Brandt Snedeker find themselves in the top 10 through Round 2. While Fowler fell back with a one over 73 on Friday, he’s right in the thick of things to win at Erin Hills. Here are the highlights from day two of the US Open.

With the cuts coming through on Friday evening, can anybody separate and elevate from the top of the pack? Will Fowler overcome a sub-par Friday to get back atop the leaderboard? It’s very tight heading into Saturday at Erin Hills. How this all shakes out should be interesting.
