Tyreke Evans has never reached his full potential. A versatile scorer who can play multiple positions, Evans has an opportunity to cash in and make an impact on a contender. Here are five of Evans’s best options.

Former rookie of the year Tyreke Evans is back on the market after spending his career in between Sacramento and New Orleans. Scouts saw Evans as an amazingly versatile player out of Memphis, and he dominated in his first few years in Sacramento. Unfortunately, Evans production has decreased consistently over the last few years, and he might have played his way out of another huge contract.

Coupled with a few nagging injuries, Evans next contract might disappoint him. But, with a lot of upside, Evans can still offer a spark for a bunch of contenders. Here are the five that make the most sense for Evans for the 2017-18 season. Keep in mind that Evans is going into his ninth season, and he only has one playoff appearance on his résumé.

5. Miami Heat

Tyreke Evans played combo guard in New Orleans and Sacramento as well as small forward. The Miami Heat could us a bigger body on the wing, and at 6-foot-6, Evans fits the mold. He could spell or play along Dion Waiters and Goran Dragic. He can run point, and he would give Miami another point guard so Waiters and Dragic can play more off the ball.

Evans fits into Miami’s mold in many ways, even with his history of injury. Miami players get injured less than many others, not to Phoenix’s level, but they could work with Evans and limit his minutes enough to make sure that he is a positive contributor. The Heat would love a guard like Evans for their core.
