How did Jordan Spieth fare in the third round of the 117th U.S. Open Championship at Erin Hills on Saturday?

Jordan Spieth’s first 36 holes at Erin Hills for the 117th U.S. Open Championship didn’t go as planned, but the 2015 champion just found into the weekend for the final two rounds in Wisconsin.

To be fair, Spieth was only seven shots back of the leaders at -7 overall on the tournament, but the two-time major winner went completely backward on Saturday. Spieth shot +4 (76) on the round and sits at +4 overall with just 18 holes left on Sunday.

On the day in Round 3, Spieth birdied just two holes and logged five bogies, including an atrocious double bogey on the par-5 18th to finish off his round. Spieth only hit 64 percent of his fairways (9-of-14) on Saturday, but the big issue this weekend was the putter for Spieth, which has really made his weekend an adventure.

Spieth hit 78 percent of his greens in regulation on Saturday (14-of-18), which was seven percent above the field’s average, but like his first two rounds, he couldn’t get any of the putts he needed to drop to go down.

It’s just been that kind of weekend for one of the best golfers on the planet and it shows on the leaderboard with just one round left to play.

Here’s the updated leaderboard for the 2017 U.S. Open after three rounds, including how Spieth stacks up against the top names on the board with Sunday left.

Even with a late charge on Sunday, there’s little-to-no chance of Spieth becoming a factor on Sunday.
