Taking a look at the tee times, pairings and TV schedule for Round 3 of the 2017 US Open

Whenever you talk about the US Open, you’re always talking about a tournament where the course is the golfers’ biggest adversary. Shockingly enough, though, that hasn’t been the case in 2017. Erin Hills has been welcoming to some, though not consistently. The result has been a wild two rounds, setting up for a wild weekend as we head into Round 3.

Many of the world’s best on the PGA Tour won’t be around for the third round and the weekend. Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day have all missed the cut, but they are far from alone. Yet, big names such as Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama remain. However, the big story to this point has been the dark horses — outside of Fowler at least.

Paul Casey, Brian Harman, Brooks Koepka and Tommy Fleetwood are all tied at 7-under heading into the weekend, a four-way gridlock for the lead. They’ll all look to stay consistent. However, the likes of Fowler and Matsuyama are nipping at their heels, as are many others. We could be in for a wild finish, depending on who survives the fescue and other traps Erin Hills has to offer.

As we head into Round 3 of the 2017 US Open, the TV schedule changes a bit. All of the action can be seen on FOX. Coverage starts at 11:00 a.m. ET running until 8:00 p.m. ET.

Then again, Fowler could regain his Thursday form and make a run back to the top of the leaderboard. What’s clear, however, is that it’s anyone’s tournament at this point. And with how unpredictable Erin Hills has been through the first two days, there’s plenty of reason to be excited for Round 3 and onward.
