Round 3 of the 117th U.S. Open Championship on Saturday was the best day of the golf major so far. Here are the best highlights from Day 3 at Erin Hills.
Five players have found themselves with scores of -10 or better through the first 54 holes of the 117th U.S. Open Championship being played at Erin Hills this weekend. Atop the leaderboard through Round 3 is Brian Harman at 12 under. He shot five-under the second time in the tournament.
However, Round 3 of the U.S. Open obviously went to Justin Thomas. Thomas was two under par through 36 holes before going off in ridiculous fashion on Saturday in this electric pink pants of his. Unthinkably, Thomas shot a nine under on Saturday. That was a US Open best in a single round. He hit an eagle on No. 18 to finish nine-under on the day and 11 under after three days at Erin Hills.
The three other golfers that find themselves 10 under through 54 holes include Brooks Koepka (-11), Tommy Fleetwood (-11) and Rickie Fowler (-10). Koepka and Fleetwood have been near the top of the leaderboard all weekend. Fowler led through Round 1 with his cool seven under on Thursday. All five golfers have an excellent chance to win it all at Erin Hills on Sunday.
However, it wasnβt all great for some of the guys on the course on Saturday. Paul Casey had a miserable time at Erin Hills on Saturday. He shot three over in Round 3 to fall from seven under to only four under. Each day has gotten progressively worse for him in this tournament. Heβs almost certainly out of it heading into the final round on Sunday.

Can Harman hold on to his one-stroke lead to win at Erin Hills on Sunday? Will Fleetwood, Fowler, Koepka or Thomas continue to play well to win it all in the second major tournament of the year?
