AJ Styles got the ladder taken out from underneath him at Money in the Bank, and took a nasty fall from what looked like a mile-high drop.

The Money in the Bank ladder match had plenty of nasty bumps throughout its entirety, but it seems like none can top the one AJ Styles put himself through midway through the match.

The match was fast-paced, with almost everyone taking a bad fall or hard hit at one point or another. At one point, Styles looked like he was making a break for the briefcase, before Dolph Ziggler made his way into the ring to cause chaos.

Ziggler ended up taking the ladder out from underneath Styles, and Styles held on for dear life from the briefcase high above the ring. Styles attempted to climb up even further to unhook the briefcase, but ended up losing his grip and falling from the high drop down to the canvas.

It was a nasty fall, and got Styles nothing in the end, as he and Shinsuke Nakamura came up just short in the match when Baron Corbin took home the briefcase and earned the title of Mr. Money in the Bank.

Earlier in the match, Ziggler got a taste of his own medicine, as he took a nasty fall after a sunset-flip power bomb from Sami Zayn off the top of the ladder.

The falls were ones that would make Jeff Hardy proud, and I’m sure plenty of fans deep down were hoping Edge would show up to spear Styles in the air like he did Hardy way back when.

The match as a whole was incredible, and Styles’ fall will be one of those Money in the Bank moments that lives on for a long time. The crowd’s reaction to the fall says it all, and it also serves as some appreciation for the craziness that The Phenomenal One endured in a (failed) attempt to become Mr. Money in the Bank.
