Mike and Maria Kanellis made their debut at WWE Money in the Bank 2017, every bit the smarmy heels talking about the power of love

There was plenty of speculation about when Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis would make their debut leading up to WWE Money in the Bank 2017, and has been for some time. They haven’t been seen in any promotion for some time. What’s more, Maria’s WWE ties and multiple reports seemed to indicate their direction pointing towards the leader in sports entertainment.

However, weeks and months passed and they’d yet to make their debut. Yet, with WWE Money in the Bank 2017 set for Sunday night in St. Louis, the speculation ramped up again in a big way. It reached a fever pitch when they were pictured at the airport with other WWE talent. Even then, however, nothing was certain and there was a chance they were only there as guests.

Sure enough, though, following the SmackDown Women’s Championship match, an 80s power ballad theme began playing about the power of love. And out came Mike and Maria Kanellis. Yes, he has taken her last name and it is the greatest thing on this planet:

So it’s only speculation after seeing them for just a couple of minutes, but this gimmick appears to be money. Mike and Maria seemed to have invaded WWE Money in the Bank as love-motivational speakers. I can’t think of many things that are easier to hate than that, which makes it a perfect heel gimmick for the real-life couple.

As for what Mike and Maria Kanellis have in store for their run in WWE, that remains to be seen. We don’t know if Maria will be wrestling, or just managing. Even still, they have the chops to really draw the ire of fans. And the results should be absolutely fantastic television. Let’s buckle in and see where this one goes.
