Brooks Koepka won his first major championship on Sunday night at Erin Hills Golf Course in Wisconsin for the 117th U.S. Open Championship. Here’s some of the highlights and the final results of the season’s second major.
For the seventh straight major tournament on the PGA Tour, a golfer has won his first major and that golfer this time around is Brooks Koepka.
Finishing off one of the greatest performances in the history of the U.S. Open, Koepka shot a -5 (67) on the final day to take home his first major over Brian Harman, Hideki Matsuyama and the rest of the field at Erin Hills Golf Course in Wisconsin this Father’s Day weekend.
When he needed a putt to go down, Koepka was absolute money. He hit putt after putt on the back nine after bogeying his first hole on the back to start his back nine charge on Sunday. After that bogey on 10, Koepka birdied 14, 15 and 16 to pull away from the pack down the stretch.
(It also helps when you can hit your 3-wood 379 yards down the center of the fairway on 18.)
Calm, cool and collected, Koepka finished off his round at -5 and celebrated about as casual as one would when winning their first major title.
Here’s a look at the top of the leaderboard as the U.S. Open finished up play on Sunday, including the full four-round scores and some highlights.
Final results
1. Brooks Koepka: -16 overall (67-70-68-67)

It took him a while, but Brooks Koepka is a major champion. Don’t be surprised if this isn’t the only one. He’s got the potential to become the best player on this planet. He’s already the best in the country, at least for this particular weekend.
