Despite not being in real contention throughout the entire weekend, how did former U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth fare on Sunday at Erin Hills?

Jordan Spieth once again wasn’t a contender for the U.S. Open Championship this year, but to his credit, he played his best round of the weekend on Sunday at Erin Hills in Wisconsin.

After three rounds of shooting 71 or higher this weekend, including a woeful 76 on Moving Day, Spieth bounced back nicely with a 69 (-3) to finish at +1 overall, 13 shots behind the leaders (who hadn’t teed off yet on Sunday).

At the time of Spieth’s round ending, the average round was over 76, so despite the windy conditions in Wisconsin during his final round, the former U.S. Open champ at least finished on a good note with two major tournaments still to be play this season on tour.

Spieth had a good round, but a weird day when you look at his scorecard. He opened the day with back-to-back birdies, which is always a good thing for any player. Then, on the back after going out with a -2 (34) through the front nine, Spieth went bogey-birdie-birdie-bogey on holes 12, 13, 14 and 15. He capped the day with a birdie on 18 to finish off his round of 69 on the day.

During his round, Spieth hit 10-of-14 fairways and hit 72 percent of the greens in regulation (13-of-18), which was around the numbers he posted during Saturday’s round that resulted in a 76. Weird? Slightly.

Let’s take a look at how Spieth finished up compared to the rest of the leaderboard at Erin Hills for the final round of the U.S. Open.
