While he surely impresses when he’s on the field for USC, Sam Darnold pulled off a cool trick throw on the water during some time off.

USC quarterback Sam Darnold is looking forward to what will surely be a successful season on the field for the Trojans, and he proved that he can throw just as well on water as he can on land.

In a video posted on the quarterback’s Instagram account, Darnold is shown making an incredible throw on a boat in his free time, as he throws a pass to someone flying across the screen on some jet-skis. It doesn’t match up to anything Dude Perfect does on YouTube, but it’s still solid to say the least.

While the throw isn’t as impressive as the catch itself, it’s still cool for Darnold to make the throw he did while moving backwards, and hit a target that precisely flying through the water at high speeds.

Darnold is making a name for himself in the football world, and has a good chance to be holding the Heisman Trophy after the upcoming college football season is all said and done. Last season for the Trojans, he threw for 2,833 yards, 31 touchdowns and had a crazy completion percentage of 70 percent.

Most football fans know him for his insane Rose Bowl performance against Penn State, where he threw for 453 yards (the Rose Bowl record is 456) in a high scoring affair that led to a 52-49 victory.

With the NFL Draft likely coming for the USC star at some point in the next few years, you better believe he’ll add this to his highlight reel for any teams looking to add his arm to their depth chart. Honestly, it’s probably going to go right to the top, since nothing can beat trick shots on highlight reels in 2017.
