MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel June 19th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s slate features 11 games, with Toronto (5.5), Cleveland (5.2), and Detroit (5.2), holding the best projected team totals. With high priced players available tonight, finding value will be critical to success. Here are a handful of value plays on DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings MLB Values:

Mike Napoli – TEX (1B) – $3400

Texas will host the visiting Toronto Blue Jays, in a game in which Texas is projected to score 5.1 runs. Mike Napoli went off in his last start, recording two home runs, and 32 DraftKings’ points. While Napoli will be tasked with facing a righty, he’s severely under priced on DraftKings. At only $3400, Napoli is $700 cheaper than the $4100 price tag he held in his last start. Hitting conditions appear to be favorable again, as we’ll have another hot and humid night in Texas.

Alex Bregman – HOU (3B) – $2700

Alex Bregman is another player on DraftKings receiving a rather bizarre price drop. Bregman is extremely cheap at only $2700. This is more than a $1000 price drop from just a few weeks ago. Both Bregman and Napoli should bat near the bottom of the order, but given their team totals, they’ll offer attractive sources of salary relief tonight. Bregman should only be considered on DraftKings, as he’s much cheaper there and his savings doesn’t carry over to FanDuel.

FanDuel MLB Values:

Brandon Belt – SF (1B) – $3000

Brandon Belt will face the right handed knuckle-baller, R.A. Dickey, tonight. Belt favors match-ups against righties, with a .356 wOBA and a .209 ISO split. He’ll also benefit from batting third and having a team total of 5.1 runs. We’ll be receiving a significant discount on Belt tonight, as he was priced around $3700 the past few weeks.

Kris Bryant – CHC (3B) – $3800

The Cubs will host the Padres tonight, in a game in which Chicago is projected to score 5.1 runs. One of the main beneficiaries should be third baseman, Kris Bryant. Bryant fairs much better against left handed pitching with a .486 wOBA (.110 better than when facing a righty), and a .331 ISO split. While Bryant is by no means cheap, he’s an incredible bargain relative to some of the other elite hitters. Bryant has been priced well into the $4000’s and should be considered tonight at a relatively affordable price tag.

Javier Baez – CHC (2B) – $2100

Javier Baez is one of the best punt options on tonight slate, at close to the minimum salary. All of the Cub’s batters are priced down as they have failed to meet the expectations set based on last year’s numbers. However, like Bryant, Baez is a righty who excels in match-up against left handed pitching. Baez holds a .329 wOBA and a .201 ISO split. Most players in this price range don’t offer much upside, but Baez does. He currently averages .042 homer runs per at bat.
