The NHL Awards show is always a fun time, and plenty of talent was recognized at the event for their achievements in the 2016-2017 season.

The 2017 NHL Awards was full of some big names and new faces all around after a solid hockey season, and players were honored for some great achievements throughout the night for the last year on the ice.

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid started off the night with a win, as he was voted by players as the Ted Lindsay winner, edging out San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns in that vote. The trophy is the players’ vote equivalent to an MVP award, going to the “most outstanding player in the regular season”. McDavid’s win went along with an announcement that he’d be on the cover of NHL 18 as a leader in the youth movement.

To go along with the young talent, Toronto Maple Leafs rookie forward Auston Matthews took home the Calder Trophy as the rookie of the year. Matthews bested Patrik Laine and Zach Werenski for the award after a stellar first year in the league in Toronto, and he’s the first Maple Leaf to win the award.

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron won his fourth Selke Trophy. In an ice cold move, Bergeron didn’t give former Bruins-turned Edmonton Oilers general manager Peter Chiarelli a high-five as he walked down to the stage to accept his award. His win ties him with Bob Gainey for the most all-time Selke award wins in NHL history.

Sergei Bobrovsky won his second Vezina Trophy in net for the Columbus Blue Jackets, as he edged out Washington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby and Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price.

San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns won his first Norris Trophy for the league’s best defender, as he edged out Ottawa Senators Erik Karlsson and Tampa Bay Lightning’s Erik Hedman. He’s the first Shark to take home the trophy in franchise history.

Martin St. Louis took home his second straight Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, which goes to the player who “exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability.” Meanwhile, Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson won the Bill Masterson Memorial trophy for “qualities of perseverance and sportsmanship.”
