Mexico vs. New Zealand live stream: Watch Confederations Cup online
Mexico face New Zealand at the Fisht Stadium on Wednesday, June 21. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Mexico are making their seventh appearance in the Confederations Cup. The other seven teams have only previously qualified 10 times between them. They may not be the favorites, but they’re certainly the most experienced nation here. They’re also the only previous Confederations Cup winner at the 2017 tournament.
They began their campaign against Portugal on Sunday. An entertaining match finished 2-2, with both sides scoring in the final five minutes of the game.
Carlos Vela and Javier Hernandez linked up for Mexico’s goal in their final warm up match, against the USA, and will pose the biggest goal threat in this game. Hernandez, a.k.a. Chicharito, also netted in the draw with Portugal.
New Zealand are appearing at their fourth Confederations Cup. They only drew one and lost eight of their previous nine matches in the tournament, though. In their first match of the 2017 edition, which was on Saturday against the hosts, they lost 2-0.
Chris Wood had a productive domestic season for Leeds, and if anyone can fire New Zealand to an unlikely victory then it will be him. The All Whites are the bookmakers’ rank outsiders for the title though.
