NBA Draft Rumors: Suns in talks to trade No. 4 pick for established All-Star level player
By Trey Daubert
The Suns appear to be open to moving the No. 4 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Who will Phoenix target in a potential trade?
The Phoenix Suns apparently are tired of rebuilding.
After adding talented draft picks like Devin Booker and Marquese Chriss in recent years, and holding the fourth pick in this year’s draft, the Suns want to add an established star player instead of rolling the dice in the draft again.
Adrian Wojnarowski reported the Suns’ plans via the Vertical:
Josh Jackson, Jayson Tatum, Jonathan Isaac and De’Aaron Fox could be options if the Suns do in fact keep the selection. The Boston Celtics pick ahead of Phoenix and are reportedly deciding between Jayson Tatum and Josh Jackson. Suns’ G.M. Ryan McDonough must think that he already has enough young talent on the roster to forgo the chance to draft one of these young talents.
The Suns could be in the market for a prospective Krisptaps Porzingis trade. With the growing dysfunction within the Knicks franchise, Phil Jackson may be crazy enough to deal their young star. The Knicks covet Josh Jackson in a potential trade as Woj also added in his Facebook Live video. If Phoenix is fortunate to have Jackson fall to them, they could then ship him off in a deal for Porzingis. When it comes to Phil Jackson’s next move, anything is possible.

Does this news also put the Suns in the market for Kevin Love, Paul George or Jimmy Butler? While Phoenix is still very much in the rebuilding process, it appears they are willing to cash in on some of their assets. The Suns also recently made a play for DeAndre Jordan as the Suns appear to be more than willing to be aggressive in a trade.
