Joel Embiid recruits Kristaps Porzingis to join the 76ers
After it was reported that Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks are shopping Kristaps Porzingis, 76ers’ Joel Embiid took to Twitter to recruit him.
Shoot your shot, Joel Embiid. It was late on Wednesday night and the storylines around Phil Jackson wanting to trade Kristaps Porzingis was what everyone wanted was talking about. As soon as it became public that Jackson was looking to trade the 21-year old, every team in the NBA was trying to get their hands on him.
Porzingis is 7-foot-3, a shooter and a rim protector. After being a top-4 pick in the NBA Draft to the New York Knicks, Porzin”god” has lived up to all the hype in the Big Apple. Yet after missing some exit meetings with Jackson, New York seems to want to ship him out to a different city.
So if you’re sitting at home and a lottery team, why not try to recruit Porzingis through Twitter? That’s exactly what Philadelphia 76ers’ center Joel Embiid did on Wednesday night, as he took a shot at Jackson at the same time.
Ooooh baby, shots fired from Philly. Embiid is one who’s never shy on Twitter, as he went from chasing Rihanna to going after the Bucks’ owner, Wes Edens. It would be an interesting fit in Philadelphia.

They don’t necessarily have a power forward who can shoot like Porzingis, but the fit alongside Embiid would be questionable. The 76ers have the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft but seem committed to taking Washington’s Markelle Fultz with it.
Would the Knicks do the deal if it didn’t include the No. 1 pick from this year? Highly unlikely, so Embiid can tweet at Porzingis all he wants. But the 21-year old won’t end up in Philadelphia. Let’s see if Embiid can recruit someone more realistic next.
