NBA teams are trying all they can to add Kristaps Porzingis, who was put on the market by the New York Knicks. Looks like the Suns won’t be in on him.

Phil Jackson might have just lost one landing spot for Kristaps Porzingis. Reports from yesterday suggested Jackson was “in love” with Devin Booker and would have traded the 7-foot-3 Latvian star for Booker and the Suns’ No. 4 overall draft pick. Obviously, the front office in Phoenix scoffed at Jackson’s request.

The two sides continued to try and make it work, because Porzingis would make a lot of sense in Phoenix. Yet, it looks like a deal between the two sides might end up not happening. Per John Gambadaro, a local radio host in Phoenix, the trade for Porzingis might happen — but it won’t be with the Phoenix Suns.

It’s interesting the way Gambadaro phrased the tweet. He said that he’s hearing from sources in New York that the trade will not happen with the Suns. This likely means that New York is looking for far more than what the Suns are willing to part with.

The New York Knicks have also been in talks with the Boston Celtics to ship Kristaps Porzingis there, but it seems like Danny Ainge has been hesitant in parting with a lot of future assets for the 21-year-old.

The Suns and Celtics seemed like the two most logical landing spots for Porzingis. Both teams have a need at the power forward position and could foster a talent like him for years to come. It seems as if Phoenix is out of the running, so now it’s only between Jackson and the Celtics to come up with a deal. Can they make it happen before tonight’s NBA Draft? Let’s see if they can.
