The Miami Hurricanes are looking to take a step toward contending for the ACC crown under Mark Richt in 2017. Here’s their projected depth chart for this season

The Miami Hurricanes are all in on Mark Richt returning the program to prominence. His first year was a strong indicator that he has the Hurricanes on the right track to becoming a power in the ACC once again.

The Hurricanes went on a streak at the end of the season to finish with nine wins. Not only did they finish with nine wins on the year, they also won their first bowl game since 2006. They handled a good West Virginia team with relative ease.

It’s a great stepping stone in the first year under Richt. In 2017, the Hurricanes have higher aspirations and want to be in the ACC Championship or at least be in contention until the very end of the season.

They’re going to have some new faces on both sides of the ball, but some talented players that are returning as well. With Brad Kaaya having left for the NFL the Hurricanes will have a new look under center with Malik Rosier. David Njoku is gone as well and matching his production will be difficult.

Defensively, they have a young core of linebackers that will have to step up and make a huge impact for the Hurricanes to go where they want to. The defense could very well be the best the Hurricanes put on the field in some time. It should be an exciting year in Miami if everything pans out. Here’s the depth chart for the 2017 Hurricanes.
