When you’re likely the number one pick in the NBA Draft, you can afford to do some weird things, and Markelle Fultz decided to do just that with his shoes.

Spoiler alert: Markelle Fultz is, in all likelihood, going to be the first overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, and will make his way to the Philadelphia 76ers starting five pretty quickly. When you know going into the draft that you’re going to be a top pick, you tend to go all out to make sure you look your best.

Some people wear fancy suits, some go nuts and wear bright colors, and Ezekiel Elliott even decided to make a crop top suit for his big NFL Draft moment. Plenty of players go crazy with their wardrobe for the draft, so nothing should really surprise you anymore.

However, Fultz may have taken it a step (no pun intended) too far, as he broke out some slick shoes that are literally made out of basketballs. Let’s just say that Fultz took the phrase “Ball is life” a little too seriously.

Fultz has been targeted as the best player in the 2017 draft class, and was so coveted that the 76ers pulled off a big trade with the Boston Celtics to go out and get the 19-year old stud.

The Washington product is definitely going to have the most rare shoe game out of anyone drafted in the first round tonight, so props to him for breaking out some crazy shoes for the night.

All I’m wondering, and I can’t be the only one, is this: how comfortable can shoes made out of literal basketballs be? You have to wear those shoes for hours and hours throughout the night, and maybe it’d best to don something a little different to sacrifice style for comfort?
