The Golden State Warriors weren’t predicted to be a factor in the 2017 NBA Draft. They just made an impact by trading for Jordan Bell.

Jordan Bell is going to a great situation with the Golden State Warriors.

It wasn’t supposed to turn out that way as the Warriors, the current kings of the NBA, weren’t supposed to make an impact in this year’s NBA Draft. Somehow, some way, the Warriors wound up doing just that.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Warriors acquired the rights to Bell, who was predicted to be a late first-rounder but fell to the second round. Despite his draft position, though, Bell has the potential to help keep the Warriors strong for the next five years.

Bell is a very intriguing product. A defensive menace at Oregon, Bell’s game was just what the Warriors needed. Golden State needs more defense and rebounding, and they managed to snag both in the athletic Bell.

Those attributes will be needed as the Warriors will face a much tougher Western Conference next season. The Timberwolves retooled in a huge way with the Draft day addition of Jimmy Butler to an already loaded team, and with the Clippers, Rockets and Spurs returning mostly intact, the road back to the Finals won’t be an easy one.

With Bell in the lineup, however, they now have a distinct advantage of having a rebounding and defensive ace to go along with all of that offense the Warriors possess. That is what will make the Warriors a tough cookie to crack once again in the 2017-’18 season, and Golden State haters are already dreading it.
