Derek Carr throws major shade at Russell Wilson, Seahawks (Video)

Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is a millionaire and a nice guy. So here he is throwing major shade at Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Just the other day, the Oakland Raiders decided to make Derek Carr a very wealthy man with his long-term deal with the club. It will make him the highest paid quarterback in the NFL in a back-loaded deal that will account for the Raiders eventual move to Las Vegas.

Oakland is coming off its first playoff berth in well over a decade. With a new contract in place and quarterbacking a new team, it’s easy to see the usually respectful Carr speak with a little swagger. He talked about how winning games as the Raiders quarterback is the most important thing to him.

As the team’s leader, he absolutely has new running back Marshawn Lynch’s back. Lynch spent 2016 retired from football doing a lot of fun things, but he remembers that one time Russell Wilson didn’t give him the ball on first and goal in Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots.

Carr 100 percent steamrolls Wilson, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and the entire Seahawks organization with this brilliant quote, “There’s no pressure. There’s no ‘we’ll be on the one-yard line and I won’t give it to Marshawn, I’ll throw it.'”

Clearly, Carr is Team Beast Mode, and is about that action, boss. That was a total power move if there ever was one. He just annihilated the Seahawks organization on their biggest gaffe in franchise history. Lynch knows how bad it was because was there.

For a guy that broke his leg in his last professional game to date, it’s a pretty bold comment by Carr, but one the late Raiders owner Al Davis would certainly be proud of. The Raiders are back. Their quarterback is excellent. Don’t expect them to throw it on first and goal from the one-yard line in the Super Bowl. Stack the box, NFC. It should be a good time.
