Paul George rumors: Cavaliers, Pacers, Nuggets discussing three-team trade
Many had thought that Paul George would be moved before the NBA Draft, but the Pacers didn’t move him. Now, there might be a three-team deal for George.
Kevin Pritchard and the Indiana Pacers’ front office are trying to move Paul George before he bolts in the summer of 2018 via free agency. Although his preferred destination is the Los Angeles Lakers, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka didn’t pull the trigger on a trade for Paul George.
The trade talks died and Indiana and Los Angeles made their draft picks as scheduled. Now that the draft is over and we’re heading into free agency, the rumors for a PG13 trade is back up and going.
Per ESPN’s Marc Stein and Chris Haynes, the Pacers are discussing a three-team deal that would send Kevin Love to Denver, Paul George to Cleveland and young assets to Indiana.
The Cavaliers are trying to improve their team after another Finals’ loss against Golden State. The one valuable asset for Cleveland that they can possibly trade is Kevin Love and they’ve been interested in Paul George and Jimmy Butler — two-way wings who can guard Kevin Durant.
In order to get either of these players, a third team would have to be involved, so young assets can be moved to Indiana and Kevin Love can be moved to that third team. Indiana isn’t interested in Love, but a young team like Denver might.

A front-line of Nikola Jokic and Kevin Love could be strong for years to come, but it depends on what young pieces that Indiana would want from Denver. It looks like the trade talks are still early, but there’s a strong possibility that PG13 still lands in Cleveland.
The talks will continue to go on until George is traded, but will he land in Cleveland? Will Love end up in Denver. Let’s find out.
