Add J.J. Redick’s name to the list of Clippers free agents who will be getting paid this summer because the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers are interested.

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, it’s expected the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets will make a run at free agent J.J. Redick.

Redick is coming off a season with the Clippers where he received more opportunities to shine than usual. For only the second time in his career did he average six 3-point attempts per game and he shot 43 percent. Additionally, he averaged 15 points per game on a crowded Clippers roster.

Redick would be a great addition to the Nets or Sixers who are two of the worst teams in the NBA. The Nets went 20-62 last season and the 76ers went 28-54. They boasted the two worst records in the Eastern Conference.

The Nets need a consistent scorer next season, especially since they are losing their best player Brook Lopez to the Los Angeles Lakers. While they were able to acquire D’Angelo Russell, it is still unknown if he can put up numbers on a regular basis in the NBA.

Brooklyn was 25th in 3-point shooting percentage last season at 33.8 percent. However, Redick could change that number for the better in a league where long distance shooting is becoming more important each season.

Meanwhile, the Sixers have big men, but struggle in guard play. Both Dario Saric and Joel Embiid stood out for the team last season, but the back court was disappointing. Point guard T.J. McConnell could pass, but couldn’t score to save his life.

Redick could perfectly slot in as a shooting guard after a frustrating season from Gerald Henderson, who averaged just 9.2 points per game.

His name has flown under the radar with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin potentially leaving the Clippers, but Redick could be integral in bringing success to a franchise.
