Joel Embiid

Of course this beer league softball team has to have Joel Embiid on it. He is without question the most fun dude in the NBA today. Embiid will make the best Shirley Temples on the bench, talk a ton of smack to the opposition and live tweet every at-bat.

We do have to keep in mind that the Philadelphia 76ers have put an innings limit on Embiid. He is not allowed to play more than three innings per game. The 76ers team physician Dr. Mantis Toboggan prefers that Embiid only pinch hit or be the designated hitter. He is allowed to stand in the outfield and yell at batters, but is highly discouraged from chasing balls that go behind him and roll to the fence.

When he’s mostly riding pine for this beer league softball team, Embiid will figure out every one of his teammates walk-up music. He will perfect his approach to the plate because he Trusts the Process. Embiid will hit for a high average and a great deal of power. Expect him to hit .800, but not be allowed to start or finish games in back-to-back weeks.

At the end of the summer, Embiid will technically lead the team in average, on-base percentage and slugging, but will not have the sufficient amount of at-bats to qualify for the beer league batting title. He spends at least three stints on the disabled list this summer because of leg things.
