NBA Free Agency 2017: One trade every team should make
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns are an outfit with a clear plan of building toward the future. After failed attempts at three point guard lineups and whiffs in free agency, they’re taking the prudent road of accumulating fledgling stars and holding fast the promise of tomorrow.
While the hope of a superstar is a powerful thing, a more powerful thing is actually having one. Fortunately for the Suns, their compilation of young talent is what it takes to pry an idolized player from another franchise.
Phoenix rapidly goes from talent cultivator to frisky playoff challenger. In addition to Anthony Davis, they’d roll with Devin Booker, Marquese Chriss, Tyler Ulis, TJ Warren, the Brandon Knight reclamation project, and whatever Tyson Chandler has left in the tank. That’s a formidable bunch. And hopefully, the Suns’ maestro training staff can keep the Brow healthy.
New Orleans nets a bounty for Davis, and rightfully so. They’d get Eric Bledsoe to keep them competitive in the present, two potential stars and a pick to help them later on. The Pelicans, although would lose one of the best players in the league, becomes a better team overall.
