NBA Free Agency rumors: Knicks have ‘legitimate’ interest in Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose apparently has a couple of teams looking to add him to their roster, and the Knicks are reportedly interested in a reunion with the point guard.
Derrick Rose, even despite his injury problems throughout his career, is still one of the most coveted point guards in the NBA in this year’s free agency, and it looks like his former team could be looking to bring him back on board.
Rose has been rumored to be a target for the Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs, but it appears the New York Knicks have some serious potential to bring the point guard back into their lineup for next season.
According to a report from ESPN’s Ian Begley, the Knicks’ interest in Rose is “legitimate”, and a reunion between the two is a real possibility after Rose’s first year with the team in 2016-17.
The interest is apparently mutual, as it was reported last week that Rose would be willing to take a pay cut to stay with the Knicks for next season, and maybe prove himself more as he looks to return to the form that earned him MVP honors in 2011 with the Chicago Bulls.

Rose averaged 18 points, 4.4 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game in his 64 games last season for the Knicks, and is in his first go in the world of free agency after eight seasons with the Bulls and one in New York.
It’s tough to get a full read on Rose, as even in his first year with the Knicks, he still missed 18 games. However, if he can bounce back from his injury woes, and prove himself worthy of a big deal and a big role in a starting lineup, Rose could return to his dominance at the point in the next few seasons.
