Scott Dixon’s win at Road America keeps him atop the IndyCar points race. Here are the updated Verizon IndyCar Series standings after the Kohler Grand Prix.

Scott Dixon’s first win of the season in the Kohler Grand Prix also helped him widen his lead in the Verizon IndyCar Series standings. Dixon is now more than 30 points ahead of defending champion Simon Pagenaud with seven races left in the 2017 IndyCar season.

Helio Castroneves couldn’t take advantage of his 50th career pole position and dropped to third place overall, but he’s only three points back of his Team Penske teammate Pagenaud. Takuma Sato’s disappointing finish at Road America means he’s now well back of the top 3 with just 323 points, and within striking distance for Kohler Grand Prix runner-up Josef Newgarden.

And despite finishing dead last on Sunday after a vicious hit, Dixon’s Chip Ganassi Racing colleague Tony Kanaan is still within the top 10 in points. He holds just a two point advantage for the eighth spot over Sato’s Andretti Autosport teammate Alexander Rossi. In all, there are six different gaps of five points or less within the 22 regular competitors. The series is still very much competitive as it prepares for the Iowa Corn 300.

Below are the Verizon IndyCar Series standings after the Kohler Grand Prix:

1 – Scott Dixon – 379pts
