3. James Johnson

His first eight seasons in the NBA weren’t anything to write about, but his ninth season has made him a hot commodity. James Johnson had a great year for the Heatles last season, and was of the main reasons why they played so well during the second half of the season.

Johnson showcased his versatility, and a remarkable all-around game that included playing solid defense throughout the season. Johnson pretty much contributed in every statistical category he could night in and night out, and his competitiveness and passion helped keep the Miami engine rumbling until the end.

Johnson proved to be a great fit for the Heat whether he was coming off the bench or starting, and there’s no reason why they shouldn’t try to retain his services. He has proven capable of handling a sizable role for a competitive team, and can fit in with the roster no matter who Miami ends up signing. Of course, it will cost the Heat a lot more than the $4 million they payed him last season to retain him, but it could very well be worth it.
