Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas was not timid in his attempts to bring Blake Griffin to Boston on Instagram.

On a post from Slam Online that featured Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, and DeAndre Jordan posing as Clippers players, Isaiah Thomas of the Celtics commented: “Helluva run. Now Blake come on over to Boston lol.”

The original photo was meant as a way to mourn the big three of the Los Angeles Clippers who were broken up Wednesday. It was reported that Chris Paul was traded to the Houston Rockets in a blockbuster deal. Additionally, J.J. Redick is rumored to be on his way out of Los Angeles, as well.

With Paul gone, few think that Griffin will remain in Los Angeles. The Celtics star probably felt he could capitalize on this by trying to bring the big man to Boston. The best regular season team in the Eastern Conference last season are making play for a bunch of big names this offseason. Gordon Hayward and Paul George are the most likely big name free agents to don Celtics jerseys next season, according to The Vertical.

However, adding Griffin to the line up would do the most good for the Celtics. The team ranked 14th in rebounding last season, but the former Oklahoma standout could change that. Griffin has averaged more than eight rebounds per game in every one of his professionals seasons except 2014-2015. He brought down just 7.6 rebounds per game that season.

Furthermore, the Celtics have more than enough money to throw at Griffin. Although, he wouldn’t be the best fit in Boston’s offense, his presence would make the team harder to prepare for. Griffin likely isn’t the team’s top priority, but landing the big man would go a long ways toward winning the Eastern Conference.
