NBA Trade Rumors: Rockets pursuing Paul George to pair with Paul and Harden
The Houston Rockets and general manager Daryl Morey are reportedly going all-in, trying to acquire Paul George to pair with James Harden and Chris Paul.
Just a few weeks ago, Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey told reporters that he had something up his sleeve. Of course, he wasn’t kidding. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Rockets are working to acquire Paul George from the Indiana Pacers.

Morey and the Rockets stunned the NBA world early Wednesday morning, pulling off a blockbuster trade for Chris Paul. The Rockets were able to acquire Paul and keep the main pieces of their squad (Harden, Capela) together. However, the Rockets front office does not believe this will be enough to beat Golden State.
Multiple reports have surfaced that the Rockets are trying to add another big name to their arsenal. With the Pacers shopping Paul George, he seems to be a perfect fit for Houston. The Rockets gave up Patrick Beverly, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker and a 2018 first-rounder for Paul, so their trade chips will be limited. However, Ryan Anderson and sixth-man of the year Eric Gordon are viable options.
The acquisition of Paul George would certainly bring the Rockets into serious contention in the West. Although, George’s options remain open. Houston will have to battle Los Angeles, Boston, Cleveland and other big name cities for George.

One thing is certain, GM Daryl Morey is already tossing his name in the ring for next year’s exec. of the year award. As things stand right now, it’s hard believing anyone could contend with Golden State. However, if the Rockets pull this move off, the Western Conference Finals will be one for the ages next season.
